Fabulous first flush of flowers

Yes, the lavenders are starting to show us some colour - the blue haze of new flowers is moving across the farm and at this stage it looks like we'll be seeing flowers out in approximately 2 1/2 weeks time. The shop is already busy and is well stocked with plenty of gorgeous lavender products.

The rest of the garden is full of beautiful colour also. Last week we were gifted a beautiful stepping stone for the garden which was made by some very clever kids at Korakanui School.

This Saturday we will be at the Te Awamutu Craft Fair which is an annual event held next to the Te Awamutu Rose Gardens -http://www.teawamutuinfo.com/

Happy gardening!

Smelling the roses....

The garden is looking lovely - the irises are giving us a gorgeous display of colour and lupins, poppies and some roses are in flower - to name a few. We have over 100 roses and in the next 2 weeks we will be seeing most of them flower. Ians lawns are looking immaculate - good job Ian! The lavenders are greening up quite nicely and we should have flowers late November (will keep you posted) The shop is also looking gorgeous with some fantastic new products, gift ideas. Come and take a look...

Spring fever

The GORGEOUS spring weather has started and the garden is starting to take shape. The lavender replanting is well under way (small block of a couple hundred plants), we've given the olive trees a hard pruning (one looks almost sculptural!) and the lavenders are starting to green up. Tour groups are already booking in and the shop is getting busier and busier. Its a fabulous buzz as we get ready to welcome the summer!

Welcome to Alphra Lavenders

We have officially become 'bloggers' - much to the amazement of our children!

We are in our quiet season - atleast, we are meant to be. We are still getting plenty of visitors to our shop. If you haven't made it out to our lavender farm yet, we'd love to see you. We have an extensive range of lavender products - moisturiser creams, barrier cream and soap through to ironing water, eau de cologne and lavender mist.

The flowers will be out again in early November, with our annual harvest happening towards the end of January.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
